Tea Time and photography

I had planned to start a black and white photography project for 2015. Specifically a picture a week, all black and white. But, my camera broke at the end of 2014 and I just now got it fixed. So, I’m getting a late start.

I took this picture this past Saturday of my cup of tea. I consider myself a tea snob. No grocery store tea bags for me. This particular tea is Milk Oolong tea from Mandala Tea, here in town. I actually bought it at the Co-op! not the actual tea shop. I’m brewing the tea in my Tea Forte Kati mug. The Milk oolong tea is interesting because while it’s dry it is tiny green “nubs” but once the hot water flows over them it becomes regular green colored tea leaves. It’s advertised for many repeated steepings. I wasn’t fond of the scent of it but I love the flavor. It’s light and sort of buttery with a sweet caramel flavor that is not overwhelming at all. There is a very slight green/grassy undertone.

The photo was taken with a monochrome setting then edited in snapseed.

am in my early 50's and enjoy writing about all of the stuff that comes up when you are in your early 50's. I am somewhat disorganized with blogging, thus I have several blogs started, then forgotten about once those "thoughts" give away to other "thoughts." This musing of a blog seems to be the one I come back to the most, so here is where you will find me.
